Cantata: With the Ebb and the Flow

The new cantata "With the Ebb and the Flow" (music by Derek Hobbs, libretto by Michael Kirkup) is a celebration of the Venerable Bede, the 'Father of English History', and the Northumbrian saints Benedict Biscop, Oswald, Aidan and Cuthbert who figure in Bede's History of the English Church and People and Lives of the Abbots.

The 40-minute cantata is for baritone solo, mixed voice chorus and orchestra, including handbells and Northumbrian pipes.
